Electret Condenser Microphone:
An Electret microphone condenser mic is a widely used type of transducer for detecting or measuring sound signals. It comprises a parallel plate capacitor where one plate is fixed and the other, known as the diaphragm, is movable with a minuscule gap between them. When a sound wave hits the diaphragm, it moves, altering the capacitor’s capacitance and causing a variable current to flow. This variable current is then filtered and processed to capture the sound you wish to record. It finds applications in noise detectors, sound recorders, activity monitors, mobiles, digital cameras, and more.

- Recommended operating voltage: 2V
- Operating Frequency: 20Hz to 16,000Hz
- Impedance: <2.2kΩ
To utilize the microphone, you need to provide it with at least 2V as it can handle up to 10V, so a 9V battery can be used to supply power. It’s important to note that the maximum current that can be passed through the microphone is 0.5mA. The microphone can capture a range of frequencies from 20Hz to 16000Hz.
