What is a thermistor used for?

Thermistors are used for temperature sensing and control in various applications like HVAC systems and electronic devices.

How does a thermistor work?

Thermistors change resistance with temperature changes, allowing them to measure temperature accurately.

What are the specifications of thermistor?

Specifications vary, but common types include NTC thermistors with resistance values like 10k or 100k ohms.

Can I use thermistor for Arduino projects?

Yes, thermistors can be easily integrated into Arduino projects for temperature monitoring.

Where can I buy thermistor in India?

You can buy thermistors from local electronics stores or online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.

What is the difference between thermistor and similar components?

Thermistors differ from resistors as they are temperature-sensitive, while resistors have fixed resistance.

How do I connect thermistor in a circuit?

Connect the thermistor in series with a resistor to form a voltage divider for accurate readings.

What power rating does thermistor have?

Typical power ratings for thermistors are low, often around 0.1 to 0.25 watts.

What tolerance does thermistor have?

Thermistors usually have tolerances of ±1% to ±5%, depending on the type and manufacturer.

Description

Thermistor - Pack of 1

What is a Thermistor?

A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance varies significantly with temperature. This unique property makes thermistors essential components in temperature sensing and control applications. In this pack, you will receive one high-quality NTC thermistor, perfect for various electronic projects.

Applications of NTC Thermistors

NTC thermistors are widely used in temperature measurement and control systems. They are commonly found in air conditioning units, refrigerators, and other electronic devices that require precise temperature regulation. With their fast response time and high sensitivity, these thermistors are ideal for applications where accurate temperature readings are crucial.

Understanding Thermistor Types

There are two main types of thermistors: NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) and PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient). NTC thermistors decrease in resistance as temperature increases, making them perfect for temperature sensing. In contrast, PTC thermistors increase in resistance with rising temperature, often used for overcurrent protection. This pack features an NTC thermistor, specifically designed for temperature measurement.

Working Principle of Thermistors

The working principle of a thermistor is based on the relationship between temperature and resistance. As the temperature changes, the resistance of the thermistor also changes, allowing it to act as a temperature sensor. By measuring the resistance, you can determine the temperature accurately. This makes thermistors an essential component in various electronic circuits, including temperature sensor modules.
